Rational assessment of scientific evidence in civil proceedings

Abstract
There is a strong relationship between science and process, due to a common purpose that they share: The truth of the facts. Proof of this is the accepted and widespread use of DNA genetic markers in the filiation process. This text, from a study of the legal evolution of the processes of filiation and the incidence of DNA test in the same, argues that a correct assessment of evidence should not be subject to the deep conviction of the judge, or subjected to a legal fee, but be examined in the light of a rational system of assessment of the test, which must meet the legal standard of evidence and scientific standard of the area of knowledge.
